Had the opportunity to go back to my “real” home coz of the long holiday in my second “home” (Thailand). I really missed home…

I asked my colleague if I could take a headshot photo of her in the office while waiting for time-out on a Friday afternoon. I thought she would refuse on this, fortunately she accommodated and I wasted no time in taking her photos. I did some post-processing when I reached my room and took me 5 hours to finish two headshots.

Show-off!

I woke up early in the morning to go and see what happened around the campus after a terrible rain last night. There was a heavy downpour such that we experienced a two-hour cut in electricity. Somehow it was good because it forced me to sleep early and the power cut contributed to the Earth Hour movement.

The reflection of plants in the water caught my attention and decided to take some snaps of the imagery created.

Why is it so difficult to separate women from cars? It seems every motorshow would not be so lively and packed without women modeling on it. And I noticed that during that event, most of the people could not help but get distracted and mesmerized by these gorgeous models instead of seriously looking at the engine. Well I couldn’t help either . It seems they are some kind of a magnet which draws you to come to them..get hypnotized…look at them…look at the car…and buy that piece of metal (of course, not the models ). Good thing I don’t have the luxury of doing such conspicuous consumption for now.

I was looking around for concept cars in the show but quite unfortunate only to find a few. Most of the big names in the industry released their latest models where the engines can be fueled from either compressed natural gas or gasohol. Some of these engines are so compressed that it eats up only 1/5th of the car’s body. Among the top of the line brands, here are some of my picks…

Despite the distance from where I am to the City of Angels, I still somehow managed to catch up and attend some latest happenings in the urban zone like this one. The 29th Bangkok International Motorshow was held on 28 March to 6 April 2008 at BITEC. The show’s theme was geared more towards environmentally-responsive transport.

Just capturing other scenes at night in Bangkok…

One of my friend’s parents came to the campus to have a vacation. She toured them around the city. On a Friday night, she tagged us along with another friend to have a dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya river.

We went inside a floating restaurant and ordered food. We waited for some time for the food to arrive since we were not the only customers in that boat. It was almost past eight in the evening when the boat started to move along with the serving of our food. We got distracted from eating as we were mesmerized by the scenes along the river.

A lot of people shouted as soon as we reached the bridge. It was like being hysterical for a while as some tried to touch the structure underneath us. Well they might have some reasons for doing such, even superstitious perhaps. This continued as we passed along 3 bridges.

Some attractions along the river were the Grand Palace, a Catholic church, Temple of the Dawn, among others.

While going through this cruise, I was also reflecting if this thing could be done in my city. Though we might not have the structures/temples to showcase, the experience somehow of having a dinner cruise along the river might be a good one.
